History

Walnut Valley Furniture Inc. was launched in August of 2000.  It is a stone in the foundation of a dream that I have had since my youth.

   Hello, my name is J. B. Madison and I am the founder of Walnut Valley Furniture, Inc. My wife of twenty years and I started our retail furniture operation ofter working sixteen years together for two very fine retail stores here in Kansas. One for eleven years and the other for five years. We have always worked together. I would miss her if we did not. She is special and has supported my dream which has become our dream.

   I am an artist. Although I found focus in scultpure,  I work in all mediums. With time I have become proficient in most of them. As I age I realize that mastering the medium simply gives me a tool to communicate a thought or image. It is the rekindled thought or image that stirs ones soul and that ability is artistry. Those thoughts and images that stir me are thoughts of Home and Family. Natural things like frogs and box turtles and the clear water of Smoots Creek which ran behind my Grandads small farm. I played there as a child. Ant hills, mosquito bites and bee stings, an unpleasant inconvenience then, are nothing but the best of memories now.

   I enjoy watching my children learn, cry,leap and laugh again and try to instill in them the drive they will need to follow their dreams with honesty and integrity.

   Walnut Valley Furniture is our combined sum of knowledge of the retail furniture business. Quality is not just a pretty face. Our mission statement for Walnut Valley Furniture:

   We know and understand construction methods. We design and engineer our own. We know true value in a piece of furniture and buy only those that exceed the standard for it's price level.

   Our goal is simple. Keep our customers satisfied, our reward will be growth and a strong part of the foundation of our dream.
